PANDASIA participates in the panel discussion on Promoting Cooperation in Research and Innovation between the European Union and Thailand on August 12, 2025
The PANDASIA Project had the opportunity to present in Session 3: Showcasing and Sharing Experiences of EU-funded Partnerships on Health and Health related Issues of the Workshop on Promoting Cooperation on Research and Innovation between the European Union and Thailand. The workshop was organized by the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Thailand and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), and was held on August 12, 2025, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre in Bangkok. It also formed part of the MHESI Science Fair 2025.
At this important forum, PANDASIA emphasized its role in connecting research, communities, and policy to prepare for future pandemic threats, especially in Thailand, which is seen as a high-risk area for diseases spreading from animals to humans in Southeast Asia.
The PANDASIA team, represented by three experts, including Dr. Boripat Siriaroonrat from Mahidol University, Dr. Kanokwan Suwannarong, the Director of SUPA71, and Dr. Cecile M. Lantican from SUPA71, shared the project’s achievements, challenges, and future plans. These include strengthening community health literacy, enhancing cross-border communication, and aligning research outcomes with both national and regional policies in Southeast Asia.
PANDASIA’s participation in this forum highlighted the project’s strong commitment to tackling pandemic risks through collaborative research, capacity building, and active community engagement.
