On 28 October 2026, Prof. Dr. Hans J. Overgaard, Principal Investigator of the PANDASIA Project, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Patcharin Lapanun, PANDASIA WP1 Lead, from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Khon Kaen University, represented PANDASIA at the practical training workshop “Horizon Europe Bootcamp: Tools, Tips & Proposal Hacks.” The event took place at Sirikunakorn Meeting Room 3, 2nd Floor, Sirikunakorn Building, Khon Kaen University. This workshop is part of the EURAXESS ASEAN Horizon Europe Traveling Workshops and Bootcamps Across Thailand, which took place in Bangkok, Khon Kaen, Chiang Rai, and Phayao during October 2026.
The workshop was held to provide faculty members, researchers, and interested personnel with the opportunity to expand their collaborative networks and access world-class research funding from the European Union (EU). The event opened with welcoming remarks from Prof. Dr. Pewpan Maleewong, Vice President for Research and Innovation at Khon Kaen University, followed by Prof. Dr. Buapun Promphakping, Director of the Center for Civil Society and Non-Profit Management (CSNM), Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Khon Kaen University, and Head of the E-ACTS Project.
During the workshop, Dr. Kanjeng Raden Mas Haryo Tatas Hardo Panintingjati Brotosudarmo from EURAXESS Worldwide ASEAN introduced practical tools and strategies for accessing Horizon Europe funding opportunities. The sessions covered identifying relevant funding calls, using research platforms such as CORDIS, the EU Funding & Tenders Portal, and EURAXESS, finding international research partners, building competitive consortia, and developing strong research proposals. The workshop brought together researchers, academics, and university personnel to explore EU research funding opportunities and strengthen international research collaboration.
The workshop provided an opportunity for researchers and institutions to strengthen their understanding of European Union research funding mechanisms and explore opportunities for international collaboration. Through its participation, the PANDASIA Project highlighted the value of research partnerships between Europe and Thailand, as well as the importance of international cooperation in addressing shared scientific and societal challenges. Furthermore, PANDASIA’s participation demonstrated the project’s role as an example of successful research collaboration between European and Thai institutions under Horizon Europe. The event also highlighted how existing Horizon Europe-funded research projects can serve as practical models for Thai researchers seeking to develop and strengthen international research partnerships in the future.
