Our PANDASIA Work Package 2 team, under the leadership of Dr. Boripat Siriaroonrat, collected animal samples in various study locations across Chanthaburi province in April 2024. Several specimen species were collected with support from local authorities. Bat team leader, Aingorn Chaiyes and her crews successfully trapped insectivorous bats from the cave, and fruit bats from fruit orchards. Rodent team leader Kittipong Chaisiri and Paisin Lekcharoen also transected line in various landscape including forest patch, fruit orchard, solid-waste dump site and within the communities. Domestic dogs and cats were also collected to screen for potential zoonotic pathogens along with wildlife samples.
